Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist who currently competes with the UFC flyweight division. She is older than fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her fight sport career as an Muay Thai boxer. She debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament and beat Suzane Miller in the finals via unanimity. Antonina won a medal of silver in 2007, an award of bronze in 2008, and a gold medal gold in 2011. Then she was named IFMA World Amateur Muay Thailand Champion in 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia started her professional career in 2003, and she took home her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina's final fight took place in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. The fight was won by unanimity. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut came in 2002 at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She won 3-0 following in the second round TKO. The next two bouts came at WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. Shevchenko had a brief time off from MMA and devoted her time to kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 against Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko beat Anissa by a unanimous vote as well as defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. The promotion ended in the year 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina utilized superior strikes to TKO Nievera by knees to her body during the final clinch. In the aftermath of this fight, Antonina received a UFC deal. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Strikes Finale in the fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious in the unanimous decision, but fell in the second round to Roxanne Modafferi on the split decision. Antonina rebounded from the defeat, and won Lucie Prudilova's battle at UFC on ESPN Covingtonvs. Lawler with a rear naked choke submission. It was the best fight of night for that bout. Shevchenko was 2-2 in her three subsequent matches, winning over Ariane Lipski while falling to Katlyn Clarkagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina lost to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO in the second round of UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
