Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her debut EP Pho. It was here that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound and the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. On July 21 2015 she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's remark. Later in the season, the music circulated all over Dreamville. She was officially signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. She was featured on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. On October 21, 2016 her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she was able to guest feature on two songs with her labelmates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. The music video later released in September. On the 9th November the singer released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 2013 she released No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared with Cole in her Creed II sound track on November 16. In February of 2019 the video music for the track debuted. It has had over three million YouTube views in just a single week. She supported 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December the year 2018.
